Magnificent 1890 GAR National Encampment Badge

This stunningly colorful badge is in perfect condition given its age. It was to have been worn at the Boston National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in 1890. Any GAR or Massachusetts collector ought to be "over the moon" with this one. Just look at that wonderful color and crisp lettering. I would grade this badge as "mint"-- the only minor flaw is that a previous collector wrote a catalog number on the back. It was probably his system for keeping track of his collection but, in all candor, I don't think the numbers are coming off. Is that a deal-breaker? It shouldn't be. This same badge is for sale on another site in more worn and faded condition for $225.00.
This one is just waiting to be displayed -- either with some other GAR material or maybe with a grouping of Massachusetts buttons in pristine condition. It will be yours, so you get to decide.
