These 1857 Flying Eagle cents are typical of what a Civil War soldier might have carried in his pocket or change purse. They are regularly excavated in camp sites and on battlefields. This particular pair is NON-excavated.
If you're a coin collector, I suspect you'd be interested in mint specimens so these may not be for you. But if you have a display of a Civil War soldier's personal effects, a pair of coins like these would add a nice touch. They look like they came right out of Billy Yank's pocket.
